Scrappy Heart Frames

I have finished 12 scrappy heart frames with fussy cut centers.
All the fabric for the blocks came from my stash!

Pink owl and squirrel

Pink dog and swinging princess

Blue cat and Cat in the Hat

Princess in a castle

Three cute foxes

Flannel lion with bird on his head

I'm trying out the neutral background for frames and cornerstones to make the blocks a little bigger.

The center fabrics are from many baby quilts I have made and a few from blankets and quilts I'm making for Baby Girl. This scrappy quilt is for Baby Girl.

I think I'm going to use the green & pink as a border. I have pink minky for the back.

This week end is our state quilt association gathering. I've signed up to learn felt applique'. Maybe I'll like it better than regular applique'.

Hope you have a productive week end.

  1. I do like your scrappy heart frames, what a great way to showcase special fabrics. Your hearts certainly are nice and "girly".

  2. What a wonderful idea for all those cute fabrics! I love that you fussy cut the center squares. I understand that Minky makes for a really soft, cozy quilt. I've used it for backing and have made a couple of blankets with it. It's not so scary as some tend to think but does take a bit of patience. You'll really like the finished product.

  3. J - When is Baby Girl's expected arrival time frame? I want to be sure and get a welcome to the world gift for her.
The quilt is adorable. You must explain the term fussy cut - as I am not a quilting expert. I just know how to blabber.
    Love ya. Miss ya.
