Snow Days = Sew Days

It started snowing Sunday after lunch.
Quickly covered all the streets.

The temperature stayed below freezing for days.
My sewing room was calling.

I cut out felt kitties from a pattern by Stephanie Woodson.
They will be Valentine gifts for my little preschool choir friends.

These double sided coasters were a snap to make with charm squares and scrap batting.

I used the pattern and directions in an email from NZP.com.
I used batting instead of fusible interfacing.
An easy, quick beginner level sewing project.

I enlarged the heart paper piecing pattern, a free download, and decided to make a table runner.
The backing will be the bunny house fabric above.

But what fabric to use for the sashing and borders?
The stripe above or the one below?

The grey and gold X's below?

Pink checks?

How about little girls on the playground?

Come back and see the finish.

Happy Sewing!
