Maple leaves mini

This week I have worked on a mini quilt.
I'm calling it Maple Leaves.
My sister-in-law sent the kit with some other fabric she was purging from her stash.

I don't have many fall colored quilts, so this will be used as a seasonal decoration.

Thanks, Doreen!

In progress photos above and below.

This was a quick easy pattern to make.
All that is left is to add the borders.
I took photos to decide which fabric to use as the border and which for the binding.

Below is my final choice. I think the check will make a cute binding.

Look for the finish next week.

Happy Fall Y'all!

Fall Kitchen Decor

For my birthday my son sent me the September kit from Annie’s Holiday Quilters Club.
It contained the fabric, embroidery thread, pattern and directions for making two tea towels and two hot pads. There was applique and a little hand stitching as well as machine sewing involved.

Two tea towels and two hot pads.

Festive Fall Decor for the kitchen.

Each tea towel was trimmed and a fabric border added.
I used light double sided fusible to attach the leaves and pumpkin to the tea towels.
Then I machine sewed a blanket stitch around each piece to finish.

The kit included every thing except batting and Insulbrite for the hot pads.

The tea towels were the quickest to make. Of course, I cut one binding wrong. The square hot pad used regular width of fabric binding but the pumpkin required bias binding. Oops! I had to go back and cut some green bias strips. Everything came together nicely and I'm please with the results.
