Finger puppet finish

I have been waiting to make these little finger puppets ever since I found the patterns in a friend's book. My idea is to make them into a mobile for baby girl. I had to wait for the felt to come in the mail. I ordered it because I wanted 100% wool felt. The difference is amazing.

Here are my first attempts.
Elephant, pig, cat, and chick.

I have a white rabbit and blue owl in progress.

This is the little bag of felt I ordered. It has 10 different colors. The sheets are just big enough for  finger puppets. I will post photos of the mobile if/when I get that figured out.

Busy Saturday

Finally had a Saturday free so I made these for the baby girl coming at the end of summer.

A giant 9 patch with flannel owls on back-it's my favorite baby quilt pattern. On this one I had enough flannel to wrap around to the front instead of binding.

The other two are flannel squares for swaddling. The pink one has little hearts sewn around the edge.

Another view or two.

Close up of the wrap around 'binding'.

All folded and ready to go.

School will be out Friday. I have so many projects that summer may be too short to get them all done.

Little Red for baby girl

Baby David arrived Monday! Grumps and I are so delighted that he is here.
He looks so much like his big brother.

Photos loaded in backward order so here is a shot of the ducky backing.

I made this giant 9 patch a few years ago but liked it so much I couldn't part with it.

I bought the fabric on a trip to Prince Edward Island. I loved the farmer feel with the checked corners and denim sides.

I found this cute book with hidden farm animals. Big brother is practicing telling the story. Hope they enjoy playing on this quilt and reading the book.

Meanwhile-we found out our son and DIL are having a girl. I saw this Little Red Riding Hood panel and couldn't resist. So much fun making the doll, pillow, wolf, and quilt. I bought some more fabric to make a tote bag for the whole set. Will share soon.

Any finishes this week? Linking up with Amanda. See you there.

Mom's Finish

No, this is not the finish. I just really, really like iris. Hope to have more blooming next year.

Mom finished the first of the boat quilts. She hasn't finished a quilt in I don't know how long. She kept having sewing machine problems. I let her borrow my Molly Babylock and she has been busy sewing on quilts for great-grandbabies.

Easy to use and portable-Molly

Block in progress

Quilted and waiting for binding

Ta-da!  All finished but the label. Ready for baby John David who will be here Monday.
Great finish and hope for a wonderful start for baby.
