Indiglow variation finished

This quilt top was finished in the summer of 2024.
I posted about it in July and planned to hand quilt it with pearl cotton.
I layered the backing, batting, and top then basted it on my sewing machine.

When I finished My Midnight Garden I looked around for another project to finish.
Since Indiglow had been waiting for over 2 years, I decided to work on it.

The hand quilting was removed. ( I had only quilted two squares.)
All the machine basting had to be carefully ripped out.
I started with the middle blocks and then the rest of the middle section.
After I ripped out the basting I machine quilted on the inner diagonals.

Today I sewed on the binding and label.
I sewed the back first then ironed the binding away from the back
and used mini clips to turn the binding.

Most of the blocks are navy or a navy print.
The focus, fussy cut centers show Japanese children at play.
The backing fabric has been in my stash for some time.

I downloaded the free pattern from Gotham Quilts.
It is called Indiglow because of the fabric line used in the original pattern.
I renamed it Indiglow variation: children playing.

Yea! Another finish.

Next: remake the strap on a small crossbody bag.
