Stay at Home Round Robin 2026

I participated in the SAHRR again this year.

My computer revised the operating system and it blocked photos uploading to my blog.

I started a new blog so I could take part in the weekly posts.

I have summarized the rounds here. 

The pink and green block was my starting block.

I decided to make 12 inch blocks instead of rows or borders this year. 

Round # 1  the two hour glass blocks. 

Round # 2  double - I made a double spinning wheel.

Round # 3  Animals. I made a block called Cat and Mice from Quilter's Cache.

Round # 4  Curves. I took an online short class in reverse applique.

I made these round 'portholes'.

But now the colors have shifted to pastels.

Round # 5  two colors.

I made 9 patches with teal and fuschia.

White was not counted as a color for this round.

Here are the blocks I had after Round # 5.

The bright royal blue, orange, yellow, and green did not go with the other colors.

So I decided to make the hourglass and double spinning wheel again.

Round # 6 Quilter's Choice

I made two framed squares and added triangles.

Since I wanted to set the blocks on point I needed setting triangles.

The hour glass blocks have been redone with teal and fuschia and white triangles.

The double spinning wheel is now peach, teal, and floral.

The triangles for the corners need to be added.

Sewing for Ava

Here are the dresses I made for Ava during our snow days in January.

This knit was a bonus dress. I bought the fabric from Mood Fabrics online

just to try out their selections.

Ava loves knit dresses and now that I have a serger I can sew knits quickly.

The dress is reversible and completely lined.

I don't know how it fits.

It might be a night gown. 

It is a very soft cotton knit.

Jessie and Ava bought fabric for four dresses for spring.

I gave them drawings of dress patterns with the fabric requirements of each.

When the snow and ice came I was all set to sew.

The tunic above can be a top, swim coverup, or dress.

This dress has a high waist, cap sleeves, and ballet neckline.

These three dresses remind me of Sleeping Beauty.

The three fairies who cared for Aurora in the Disney version

favored blue, green, and pink.

This shift style looks great on Ava.

This is the back showing the zipper.

Jessie suggested horizontal stripes on the top and vertical stripes on the skirt.

I added a thin sash and hem of mint.

The back features a cute V.

Cap sleeves and a fully lined bodice make a comfortable spring/summer dress.

I took this to show the gray thread that I used for all three of these dresses.

I blended well with blue, green, and pink.

I love the fabrics Jessie and Ava picked.

It was fun to sew these dresses.

I hope she enjoys wearing them.
