SAHRR Center Block

Here is my center block for SAHRR 2026.
I tried this out as a practice block.

I think it looks like a flower.
I used 5 inch squares.

Let's see where this leads.

Quilting and Binding Finish

At the November guild meeting I picked up a charity quilt to finish.
Someone pieced the top and someone made backing and cut batting.

My part was to quilt and bind the quilt.
I used a navy Aurifil thread and used my sewing machine to quilt straight and wavy lines.

Then I used the strips provided to bind the edge.
I used a gray thread on top and the navy in the bobbin.

Here is the finished quilt after washing and drying.
I love the crinkly texture.

The back looks good, too.

If I can get a label, this quilt will be ready to give to someone.
Lots of people helped make this charity quilt.
I think I like this step best.

Next, finish quilting my Frank Lloyd Wright quilt.

First Flimsy Finish of 2026

The baking and sewing for Christmas was finished.
I needed a quick project.
UTQG has been asked to make mini quilts for first time home-owners.
The quilts will be part of a celebration in April.
We were asked to include inspirational words in the quilt.

I found this house pattern in the book Quilty Fun.

Trying out some fabric for the sky.
The green and flower prints represent the fence, grass and flowers of the yard.

I made trees from a pattern in the book All in a Row.
I found a strip of fabric with the words "I think I can" repeated in blue.
The clouds have the words Faith, Hope, Friendship, and Love.
The center yellow diamond represents the sun.

After I quilt it I will finish it with a hanging sleeve and facings.
The mini is 24 inches square and all the fabric is from my stash.
