Fiesta Fabric Challenge

The voting is open for the Fiesta Fabric Challenge on Cotton Blossom Farm's Facebook page. This is my entry - a tote and accessories in the grape color way. I finished the bag a while ago. I thought a bag would be something different and I didn't have time to make a quilt of any size.

Imagine my surprise when I took my entry to the store and there were at least five other bags.

Oh, well. I had fun designing and making the bag and all the little coordinated accessories. I ended up making the bag, cell cozy, cosmetic bag(wide open pouch), business card holder, and travel tissue holder. 

Lots of little finishes

Who doesn't love a long week end? Monday was dedicated to sewing these little cozies and oven mini mitts. I bought the pattern 'Hot Fingers' at a fabric shop in Toronto. I found Insul-Bright here in town so I was ready to make these cute little mitts. Two fat quarters will make four. They are tough to turn but so handy when finished.

I made twelve cell phone cozies, too. I used ribbon instead of fabric for the wrist band and button clasp. That made sewing much faster. I made all of these cozies in two hours.

I cut out the pieces while watching TV Saturday night, then the sewing was quick and easy on Monday. Now what am I going to do with all these? Thinking I may sell them on Etsy or at a craft fair. Can't decide. Any opinions? Suggestions?

Traveling & Sewing

Recently visited Toronto, Ontario and found this yarn shop, Lettuce Knit. So many pretty things it was hard to choose.

It's never cold enough in Mississippi for me to wear wool, so I was looking for something pretty with very little or no wool. I found some nubby cotton and will share when I figure out how to make what I see in my imagination.

Before the trip I made this bag and accessories for a contest at my LQS.

Ninety per cent of the project had to be made of the fabric line Fiesta. Only one item per contestant.

I'm hoping the bag and accessories count as one item. ;-)
